The hybrid funnel I am going to layout for you here has worked for us internally since 2002.
I say it’s undefeated because it produces sales and gets the cash flowing like clockwork!
Again, it’s basic and it works. Do not over complicate it! In fact, an ongoing theme you’ll find in phone sales is THE BASICS WORK.
Let’s get started shall we.
The typical online sales funnel works like this:
Step 1.
The customer buys online.
Step 2.
The customer is presented an upsell.
Step 3.
If the upsell is declined then a downsell is presented.
Step 4.
If the downsell is declined then the sales funnel ends.
Step 5.
A receipt or a welcome video is presented to the customer.
Please note: There’s many variations but this is the basic funnel.

The hybrid sales funnel (online to offline):
Step 1.
The customer buys online.
Step 2.
The customer is presented an upsell.
Step 3.
If the upsell is declined then a downsell is presented.
Step 4.
If the downsell is declined then sales funnel ends.
* Step 5.
Instead of a receipt or video here the customer is instructed to call your 1-800 that leads to us OR your phone room to verify or confirm their order.
* The 1-800 # leads to your phone room or us.
* When your customer calls the Closer on the phone verifies the order then goes into a thank you pitch. The thank you pitch is a special designed pitch to qualify the client for the upsell.
* If the customer qualifies the Closers pitches the offer then:
a. Closes the deal
or
b. Gets a down payment on the upsell.
* If the customer does NOT qualify then the Closer schedules a call back.
* If the customer is NOT interested then the Closer verifies the order and tells the customer to have a nice day.
Ta da, that’s it. Can you see the magic?

- The customer is in a buyers mindset.
- The customer is familiar with your site, brand, and offer. Remember they just purchased minutes earlier online.
- The customer is shifting control to the Closer. How? Not gonna go all woo woo on you but just take my word on this. We’ve witnessed this model work way too much. How I teach it to my team… The lead / customer is letting their guard down by following the “verify or confirm their order” instructions (again take my word on this).
- The customer is in a buyers mindset.
